Students encouraged to apply for Resident Advisor positions
The Office of Campus Life is seeking Resident Advisors to help lead the campus community during the 2013-2014 academic year. Successful candidates will have the desire and commitment necessary to make a difference in the lives of their peers.
RAs represent the Office of Campus Life as key staff members, working under the direct supervision of area coordinators. In addition to obtaining course credit, RAs complete an extensive training program that offers them an opportunity to develop valuable interpersonal and organizational skills.
RA information sessions will be held:
- 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 in the William Watts Sherman House lounge
- 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the Reefe Hall first-floor lounge
- 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 in the Miley Hall second-floor lounge
The selection process consists of an application (including essays and two letters of recommendation), a group interview and an individual interview. Applications are available in the Office of Campus Life.
RAs are required to attend weekly staff meetings and biweekly one-on-one meetings with their area coordinator, make rounds in their residence hall and attend RA class every other week.
