The Dance Club will present its fall performance Dec. 4-5
The Dance Club, Salve Regina’s student-run dance organization, will be presenting its fall performance “Ultra” on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m in Rogers Recreation Center. The show will feature student choreographed dances with styles varying from commercial dance, jazz, tap and contemporary.
Admission to Saturday’s show requires a $1 donation to the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, while Sunday’s performance will cost $5 per person. No reservations are required, but masks for all audience members are required during the show. The public is invited to attend, as well anyone from the Salve Regina community.
The funds raised by “Ultra” to support the Andrea Rizzo Foundation is a long standing tradition of The Dance Club. Andrea Rizzo was a Salve Regina graduate who was tragically killed by a drunk driver at the age of 24. The foundation raises money for children’s cancer research through dance therapy programs, including Drea’s Dream at the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, which is a pediatric dance therapy program for children with cancer and special needs.
The Dance Club is a student-run organization for dancers looking to perform and choreograph in a recreational atmosphere. Boasting an average of 175 members each academic year, it is the largest club on campus. The Dance Club includes representation of any dance style students show interest in, and performances are popular events on campus that occur at the end of each semester.
