Alumni returning to campus for Reunion Weekend 2013

Hundreds of alumni, along with their families and friends, will return to Salve Regina and Newport June 7-9 for Reunion Weekend. Alumni from the classes of 1951-1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2008 are invited to come back to the University and be part of the celebration.

Four graduates will be presented with Alumni Achievement Awards, given to graduates who are role models to Salve Regina students and alumni, during Sunday’s brunch in Ochre Court. This year’s recipients are Mary Ann Lafferty Della Valle ’63, Geraldine McLaughlin Osborne ’73, Karen Rajkumar Cooper ’88, ’91 (M) and Michael Cox Jr. ’93.

Unless otherwise specified, all events are free. The weekend’s events include:

Friday, June 7

• Reunion kickoff reception – 5-8 p.m., Ochre Court.
• Night at the Landing – 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Landing, downtown Newport.
• Class of 1973 40th reunion reception – 7-11 p.m., William Watts Sherman House.

Saturday, June 8

• 50th Anniversary Society Mass – 11 a.m., Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.
• 50th Anniversary Society reception and ceremony – Noon, Ochre Court.
• Class of 1968 45th reunion barbecue luncheon – Noon to 2 p.m., Wakehurst porch, $10.
• Barbecue lunch – Noon to 3 p.m., Wakehurst tent, $10 adults/$5 children.
• Holistic counseling alumni barbecue lunch – Noon to 3 p.m., Wakehurst, $10.
• 50th Anniversary Society luncheon – 12:30 p.m., Ochre Court, $10.
• Class of 1963 50th reunion luncheon – 12:30 p.m., Ochre Court.
• Class of 1988 25th reunion celebrations – 5-6 p.m. and 9-11 p.m., William Watts Sherman House, $25.
• Class of 2003 10th reunion reception – 5-7 p.m., Founders Hall.
• Class of 2008 5th reunion reception – 5-7 p.m., Walgreen Hall courtyard.
• All-class New England clam boil – 6-9 p.m., Ochre Court, $35.

Sunday, June 9

• Mass – 11 a.m., Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.
• Reunion brunch – Noon to 2 p.m., Ochre Court, $20.
