The Center for Community Engagement and Service is offering many service opportunities for students in February — including an opportunity at an aquarium, Spanish-speaking opportunities and Valentine’s Day-themed service opportunities.

Create Aquarium ID Cards with Save the Bay
Save the Bay is looking for remote volunteers to focus on research and writing species identification cards for their Exploration Center & Aquarium. They are looking for volunteers who can create accurate and engaging descriptions of aquarium animals with fun facts that appeal to all ages. The ideal volunteer will have excellent writing and research skills, strong attention to detail and a background in marine biology. Spanish-speaking volunteers needed to deliver meals with Conexion Latina Newport
Conexion Latina Newport is looking for volunteers who have their own cars and are proficient in Spanish to help drive food and other items to Spanish-speaking families in need in Newport. This volunteer opportunity will be weekly on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All volunteers should reach out to Rebekah Gomez from Conexion Latina Newport for more details at rgomez@conexionlatinanewport.org.
Tuesday, Feb. 2 and Tuesday, Feb. 16: St. Paul’s Grab n’ Go Handout
Reliable and responsible volunteers that have their own cars are needed for this event from 3:15 p.m. until 5:05 p.m. Volunteers will pick up premade lunch bags from Gerety 201, transport to St. Paul’s Church in Newport and then hand out the bags to community members in need during this time frame. Must dress for warm weather. All leftover bags will be donated to the McKinney Shelter by the volunteer. Location will meet in in Gerety 201, then load car and drive to St. Paul’s Church in Newport.
