Community service opportunities: September

Ready to log some service hours? The Center for Community Engagement and Service has several opportunities remaining during the month of September.

Thursday, Sept. 19: Baby Blankets

Volunteers are needed in Gerety Hall, Room 201 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. to make fleece tie blankets for Newport Hospital. Transportation is not provided.

Thursday, Sept. 19: Moving Wall Memorial

Volunteers are needed at Touro Park on Bellevue Avenue from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to escort veterans to their seats before the ceremony. This site is on the trolley line.

Friday, Sept. 20: Moving Wall Memorial

Volunteers are needed at Touro Park on Bellevue Avenue from 10:30-11:30 a.m. to assist with the opening ceremony. This site is on the trolley line.

Saturday, Sept. 21: Touch-a-Truck

Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to assist Child & Family in all duties associated with event setup, food table coverage, silent auction and packing up supplies. Van transportation is provided – pick up at Miley Hall at 8:15 a.m., return at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday Sept. 21: Moving Wall Memorial

Volunteers are needed at Touro Park on Bellevue Avenue from 1-2:30 p.m. to help with the recognition ceremony. This site is on the trolley line.

Tuesday, Sept. 24: McKinney Shelter Meals

Volunteers are needed in Gerety Hall, Room 201 from 6-7 p.m. to assist in making brown bag lunches for residents at the McKinney Shelter. Transportation is not provided.

Thursday, Sept. 26: School Picnic

Volunteers are needed at Emmanuel Day School on Spring Street from 4-7 p.m. to assist with setup, cleanup and greeting of guests during the annual picnic. This site is on the trolley line.

Saturday, Sept. 29: Pennfield Road Race

Volunteers are needed at the Pennfield School in Portsmouth from 6-10 a.m. to support the directions of the road race and cheer on runners. Transportation is not provided.

      Meet with a member of Admissions Office to hear about Salve Regina's mission, campus life and academics directly from an admissions counselor in a group setting. It's a great introduction to Salve Regina and all the opportunities that exist for you here. 

      A virtual information session is designed for those who are in the college search and application process. If you would like to learn more about Salve Regina University and have your questions answered in a live chat, this is the best place to start. Our sessions last approximately one hour.

      You will also be able to view our virtual tour as part of your registration for this presentation.

    • Reunion Weekend
      Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 5

      Reunion Weekend will be packed with exciting events both on and off campus. It's been too long since we've been able to welcome you to campus for a reunion celebration, so these events are sure to be worth the trip back to Newport. Return to campus and reconnect with your classmates - all alumni are welcome to attend.

      Hear from University leaders the state of student life and where Salve Regina is headed. Whether you’ve recently graduated or you’re returning after a hiatus, campus has updates!
