Cullinane receives “Catch a Rising Star” scholarship
Eddie Cullinane ’19 recently received the “Catch a Rising Star” scholarship from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the leading association for the advancement, health and sustainability of the student affairs profession.
The scholarships are awarded to students who have made a significant contribution to their home campus, demonstrated academic achievement, exceeded the expectations of their respective leadership positions and shown an interest in the field of student affairs.
“This award was a great opportunity for me, and it was a great feeling to receive recognition for my work on Salve’s campus,” Cullinane said. “I was able to attend a professional student affairs conference, meeting new professionals at other institutions and attending educational sessions where I was able to learn about current trends in higher education, including orientation, closings and mergers, and assessment.”
An American history major and secondary education minor, Cullinane is president of the Student Government Association, vice president of Sigma Phi Sigma, program coordinator for Orientation and a Resident Advisor.
Cullinane, who is planning to attend graduate school for higher education and student affairs, said his experiences at Salve Regina have demonstrated what it will be like to work in the field.
