Monday, Oct. 15 is the deadline to apply for the winter short-term study abroad program in Paris. Led by Dr. Katherine Lawber, “Special Topics: Literary Paris” will be held Jan. 3-13, 2013.

The literary works covered in the course will allow students to come to know and appreciate some of the greatest works in both French and world literature. Students who are able to read the texts in the original French will also benefit from the exposure to new vocabulary, structure, grammar and stylistic techniques.

Reading and studying these works in an environment that allows students to visit sites that are closely related to the authors and/or to the works themselves will provide a dimension to their understanding that is impossible to recreate in any classroom setting.

Where applicable, the program will count toward the six-credit language requirement. The cost of program is $4,100, with a $1,200 deposit due by Friday, Nov. 9. Click here for complete information on the program.
