Doctoral candidates to present dissertation proposals, defenses
Faculty, staff and graduate students are encouraged to attend any or all of the six dissertation proposal and defense presentations scheduled this month. In addition, any undergraduate students who may be considering the pursuit of a Ph.D. are welcome to attend.

Fred Abong will present his dissertation proposal at 4 p.m. Monday, March 24 in the Young Building ballroom. The proposal is titled “Bringing Back the Magic: The Embodied, Entwined, and Esoteric Self.”
Suzanne Baldaia will defend her dissertation at 5:15 p.m. Monday, March 24 in the Young Building ballroom. The dissertation is titled “The Nice Paper as a MacIntyrean Community of Virtuous Practice: A Wunderkammer of Resistance to Late-Capitalist Modernity in Rhode Island, 1989-1995.”
Jordan Miller will defend his dissertation at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 28 in the DiStefano Lecture Hall. The dissertation is titled “A Radical, Subjunctive, Political Theology of Resistance: On Religion and Community.”
Sasha Ruggieri will present her dissertation proposal at 1 p.m. Monday, March 31 in the Young Building ballroom. The proposal is titled “21st Century Protest Literature: The Contribution of Contemporary Authors in Shaping America’s Movement towards a Slow Food Ethic.”
Albion Bergstrom will present his dissertation proposal at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 31 in the Young Building ballroom.
Marc LeVasseur will present his dissertation proposal at 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 31 in the Young Building ballroom.
