The librarians and staff at McKillop Library know that it’s probably the end of a long week for everyone after this first full week of Virtual Salve! This is why we decided to compile a list of some fun things for you to check out from the library — even remotely!

So read below to find a movie, a funny story, or e-book that will resonate with you and help to lighten the mood on this first Friday of remote learning.

McKillop Library’s e-book collection

Search for our vast collection of e-books to read during your free time using the library’s home page. You’ll find something interesting to past the time, we just know it!

The Library’s movies and videos

There are films available through the library’s database called Films on Demand. There are thousands and thousands of documentaries, segments, and videos on the database that will spark your mind and imagination. Some films that you might like to check out are:

  • The Beatles: Made on Merseyside, a documentary film.
  • TEDTalks: Ashton Cofer—A Young Inventor’s Plan to Recycle Styrofoam
  • TEDTalks: Danielle Wood—6 Space Technologies We Can Use to Improve Life on Earth

Share what you’re watching and reading through Padlet

Our librarians created something fun through Padlet where you can share what you are reading and watching during this time! Maybe these ideas from the Salve Regina community can help you out, too.

A few more things we’re enjoying right now

Here’s just a few other fun things we’re enjoying right now! We hope you will find them delightful, too.

  • Joseph’s Machines on YouTube
  • The Great British Bake Off on YouTube
  • 9 Delightful Articles to Help You Get Through This Week
  • The Hidden Worlds of the National Parks
  • Chimp&See Wildlife Videos

The McKillop Library staff hopes each one of you have a wonderful weekend and an opportunity to relax. Stay strong and healthy, and keep learning!

Each Friday, SALVEtoday will provide fun ideas and experiences to encourage and uplift the University community during this time of remote living and learning. #salvesgotthis #funfridays
