Head coach Cory Tusler has announced that Julie Grant ’16, Emma Gruber ’17 and Kasey Walther ’16 will captain the women’s tennis team for the 2015-2016 season.

“This is the most organized group of captains I have had in a long time,” Tusler said. “They are outgoing, great leaders and have made a lasting impression on the new incoming players that will be with us for the next four years.”

Walther has held the No. 1 singles position each of her first three seasons, and Grant and Gruber have twice been named Intercollegiate Tennis Association all-academic team members. All three are captains for the first time.

The women’s tennis team opens its regular season hosting a non-league match against nationally ranked Babson College at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. The team’s opening day lineup may feature newcomers in three of the six singles positions.
