Men’s soccer ranked No. 8 in New England
After earning their eighth consecutive win of the season Saturday, Sept. 22, the men’s soccer team was ranked No. 8 in the region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III New England poll.
The Seahawks are off to their best start in program history, compiling an 8-0-0 record to begin the 2012 campaign, including a 3-0-0 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Salve Regina is one of just 10 teams in the nation to maintain a 1.000 winning percentage, posting no losses and no ties.
The Seahawks have been tested at almost every turn this season, and have managed to answer the bell each time. Included in this run are six one-goal victories, three 1-0 wins and a pair of overtime triumphs, including a 2-1 extra time win versus defending conference champions Western New England University during homecoming weekend.
