The Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy will look at global challenges through a mercy approach during a roundtable discussion scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13 in the Miley Hall executive dining room.

The 193 United Nations member countries recently ratified a set of 17 aggressive sustainable development goals to be met by 2030. The new U.N. process for setting these goals has intended to be more inclusive of civil society.

The roundtable will explore how Mercy Global Action – the Sisters of Mercy mission at the United Nations – made its impact in this process and discuss the mercy perspective on the final set of sustainable development goals. The discussion will be moderated by Sister Aine O’Connor, Mercy Global Action coordinator at the United Nations.

Roundtable discussions are open to Salve Regina students, faculty and staff, and lunch is provided. As space is limited, those interested in attending should RSVP to pellcenter@salve.edu.
