John Scorcia was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast player of the week for men’s ice hockey after helping the Seahawks to a three-game winning streak to open the season.

Scorcia had three points on the week, including two goals in Salve Regina’s 5-3 win over Stonehill College last Tuesday. He is now tied for 10th all-time at Salve Regina with 63 points in his career as a Seahawk and is fifth all-time with 43 assists.

After defeating Stonehill to open the week, the Seahawks kicked off ECAC Northeast action with a 6-3 win over Suffolk University last Saturday. They return to the ice at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 when they travel to Lowell, Mass., to face Wentworth Institute of Technology.
