The Office of Community Service is inviting students to support the Daffodillion campaign’s effort to plant 1 million daffodils throughout the city of Newport.

Student volunteers are needed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Thursday, Oct. 8 to pack 45,000 daffodil bulbs in “Let’s Get Daffy” bags, which will be given to Newport residents and businesses to plant throughout the city this fall.

The volunteer event will be held on the Wakehurst lawn. To sign up, students should visit the Office of Community Service website.

The Daffodillion campaign celebrates renewal, beauty and livability in all of Newport’s neighborhoods, including Salve Regina’s campus. Launched in 2006, the campaign has planted 384,000 daffodils throughout the city over the past nine years.
