Students encouraged to apply for Resident Advisor positions
The Office of Residence Life is seeking Resident Advisors to help lead the campus community during the 2019-2020 academic year. Successful candidates will have the desire and commitment necessary to make a difference in the lives of their peers.
RAs represent the Office of Residence Life as key staff members, working under the direct supervision of area coordinators. RAs complete an extensive training program that offers them an opportunity to develop valuable interpersonal and organizational skills.
RA information sessions will be held:
- 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 in the Office of Multicultural Programs and Retention
- 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 in the Reefe Hall first-floor common area
- 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 in Miley Hall, Room 012
RAs are required to attend weekly staff meetings and biweekly one-on-one meetings with their area coordinator, make rounds in their residence hall and complete training in the fall and spring along with monthly in-services.
The selection process consists of an application (including essays and two letters of recommendation) and an individual interview. Applications are available online and are due by noon Thursday, Jan. 31.
