Sigma Beta Delta, the business honor society, is inviting students on the meal plan to donate their dinner on Friday, Oct. 26. For each student who signs up and does not swipe his or her card for dinner that night, Sodexo will donate $3.50 to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center’s food bank.

Sign-up sheets are posted in the O’Hare Academic Center on the doors of Rooms 207 and 262, or students may sign up by e-mailing Arlene Nicholas. Cash donations are also accepted.

The MLK Center’s food bank is available to anyone in Newport County in need of food assistance. As a member agency of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, they are also the distribution center for the Pantry Express, providing fresh produce every Tuesday from July through October. In addition, the center provides food baskets to residents in need during the Thanksgiving and holiday seasons.
