Salve Regina’s theatre arts program will hold auditions for “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “Beast on the Moon” at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 in the Megley Theatre (Antone Academic Center, Room 127).

Rehearsals will be held from 6-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personas to escape burdensome social obligations. The cast includes five men and four women. Rehearsals will begin Sept. 15 for performances Oct. 23-26.

Inspired by harrowing true events, Richard Kalinowski’s “Beast on the Moon”follows an immigrant refugee and his teenage mail-order bride – two polar opposites who have one tragic experience in common. The cast includes two men and one woman. Rehearsals will begin Nov. 17 for performances Feb. 12-15, 2015.

Callbacks will be held Saturday, Sept. 13. Casting is open to all members of the Salve Regina community as well as the general public.
