USS sponsoring series of technology workshops

User Support Services will sponsor a series of workshops for members of the Salve Regina community throughout the month of March. Dan Titus, associate director of User Support Services, will conduct the workshops in the McKillop Library, computer lab 006 (unless otherwise specified).

Participants may attend any or all of the sessions. Registration is not required, but those who are interested may contact Titus at (401) 341-2451 or titusd@salve.edu for more information.

Outlook (advanced)

11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 5

Topics will include advanced features in backstage view, formatting, exporting, mail security, archives and data files.

Word (basic)

11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 10

Topics will include the ribbon, text and paragraph formatting, headers, footers, dates, times, illustrations, editing various objects, views and document protection.

Word (advanced)

11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 12

Topics will include advanced text and paragraph formatting, page layouts, colors, styles, themes, table and charts, complex document objects, mail merge, equations, macros and advanced customizations.

Excel (basic)

11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 24

Topics will include the ribbon, screen objects, workbooks and worksheets, different types of data, sparklines, filtering and sorting, basic formulas (and the order of operations), illustrations and charts.

Excel (expert)

11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 26

Topics will include advanced workbook and worksheet tasks, importing different types of data, advanced formula options, pivot tables and charts, security macros and other customizations.

Access (basic)

11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 31

Topics will include relational databases, the ribbon, tables, queries, forms and reports.

iMovie

11:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, Antone Academic Center, Room 122

Topics will include importing different media into iMovie; setting timings, transitions and titles; and exporting to different services.
