The women’s ice hockey team placed 10 students on the 2012-2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference all-academic hockey team. The 10 Seahawks mark the most for Salve Regina since the 2009-2010 season.

Included are Monika Borkowski ’14, Michaela Chiuccariello ’15, Shannon Coleman ’15, Caitlyn Farragher ’13, Sarah Markey ’15, Sarah McCusker ’13, Taylor Shepherd ’15, Melanie Sherlock ’13, Kelsey Talty ’13 and Samantha Zitzer ’13.

In order to be eligible for the honor, students must have completed at least one academic year at their current institution, while also compiling a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.

A total of 93 students representing all 12 member institutions were named to this year’s all-academic team. The Seahawks placed more players on the all-academic team than all but three conference institutions.
