Big Q blog invites students to comment on ethical dilemmas
Want to win $100? The Big Q blog, sponsored by the Department of Religious and Theological Studies, is inviting students to analyze and comment on an ethical dilemma and possibly win a $100 Amazon gift card.
Every two weeks, the Big Q blog posts a new case study illustrating the everyday issues confronting undergraduates. Students post their comments and invite their friends to visit the blog and “like” their favorite responses. At the end of the two weeks, the 10 most liked responses become finalists, and the winner is chosen from the final group by an expert panel.
“One of the important aspects of a college education, particularly at a Catholic university, is learning how to navigate through thorny ethical questions,” said Dr. Anthony LoPresti, chairman of the Department of Religious and Theological Studies. “The Big Q is designed to give students practice thinking through a variety of ethical issues that regularly arise in a college student’s life. The questions raised are real life and one which almost every student will be able to identify with.”
Salve Regina sponsors the Big Q along with the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University, which launched the project in 2010.
