Harden named rookie of the week

Freshman guard Meaghan Harden helped lead her team to a 3-0 week, including Salve Regina’s first conference win, to claim Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) rookie of the week honors.

In a 63-60 win over Colby College, Harden netted 14 points, snagged six boards and recorded one steal. Against Rivier College, she shot 54 percent from the floor (7-of-13), grabbed six rebounds and dished out one assist to aid her team in a 78-55 win. With those two victories, Harden was named to the all-tournament team at the Keene State Holiday Tournament.

The Seahawks also earned their first conference win of the season with a 56-54 victory over Curry, where Harden recorded 18 points and four rebounds.

The conference honor is the first for any Seahawk this season.
