Lunch and learn will provide tips on getting a healthy night’s sleep
The Office of Human Resources is offering a lunch and learn entitled “Healthy Beginnings – Sleep from A to Zzzz” that will count towards the 2020 Tufts Health Plan wellness rewards program on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 12-1 p.m. in the Ochre Court Library. A light, healthy lunch will be served. Employees can register in advance to ensure a spot.
During “Healthy Beginnings – Sleep from A to Zzzz,” participants will receive practical, healthy sleep tips and relaxation techniques that can be used to get a better night’s sleep… tonight. They will gain an understanding of the factors that can disrupt sleep, including sleep disorders, and discover practical tips for sleeping well.
Sleep is a basic necessity of life as important as air, food and water. Getting the proper amount of sleep can determine whether we wake up feeling refreshed or depleted. Sleep deprivation can compromise job productivity, relationships, health, safety and more. This seminar will cover general information and myths about sleep, as well as how sleep affects physical and emotional health. The class will help participants discover how sleep works and recognize the symptoms and consequences of sleep deprivation.
