Academic Center for Excellence announces new services for 2020-21 academic year
The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is excited to announce that it has a few new services to offer undergraduate students for the 2020-21 school year.
One of the services is TutorTrac. Students can now book and manage tutoring appointments online through an online web application called TutorTrac. TutorTrac provides a convenient way to see tutoring schedules and get connected with ACE’s services, and it automatically sends appointment e-mail reminders and provides a convenient way to login to virtual appointments.
Students can access TutorTrac via a link on ACE’s website or through the new Campus Portal. TutorTrac is part of the single sign-on system, so if a student is logged into their Salve Regina accounts, they will not need to log in again.
ACE has also added a few other new services based on student requests for this year. The Writing Center is now offering asynchronous feedback provided by its peer writing consultants. Students can elect to digitally “drop off” their paper by selecting this service in TutorTrac and uploading their document.
ACE has also started a new peer academic coaching program. Peer coaches help empower a student to reach their academic goals. Sessions may cover time management, note-taking, textbook literacy and more, and most sessions are virtual. Peer coaches are trained and supervised by professional learning specialists and advisors.
ACE continues to offer a variety of resources, workshops and services to help students learn effectively and efficiently. Peer subject tutors review content and provide specific study strategies for courses in many disciplines. Peer Writing Center consultants help with every phase of the writing process from brainstorming to revision, no matter a student’s ability or skill level. One-on-one and small group tutoring sessions are offered primarily in a virtual format this semester.
