SRyou Student Exposition is back, proposals must be submitted before Feb. deadline

SRyou Student Exposition is back, which is a huge moment of significance for the University community since last year’s SRyou was disrupted by the pandemic. It will be held on Wednesday, March 24.

For newer students who may not know about it, SRyou Student Exposition is an important opportunity for all undergraduate students to share curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular involvements with their peers, faculty and staff. The deadline for student proposals is approaching quickly, and students may enter proposals through Thursday, Feb. 11.

“Our theme this year is ‘Support and Celebrate,’ which I think captures the essence of what the SRyou Student Exposition is all about,” described Anita Lahue ’22, the SRyou Student Exposition planning committee chairwoman. “This year more than ever before, it’s so important for us to have these opportunities to come together and lift each other up.”

The SRyou Student Exposition will be a hybrid event this year to accommodate more presentations and ensure the safety of the Salve community in this event. Traditional classroom presentations will instead be delivered via Zoom while tables, posters and visual art will be in person. More information on the hybrid modality will be released soon.

Due to current policies and procedures, SRyou is unable to welcome guests from outside of the immediate University community, and it will be a safe environment for attendees by following the COVID-19 guidelines put forward by the University and the R.I. Department of Health.

Students may submit proposals for any classwork, research, extracurriculars, internships, service learning, study abroad or artistic, music or theater work they would like to showcase in the exhibition. Students can also develop proposals as individuals, in groups or as representatives of campus organizations.

“I encourage all students to present not only because of the incredible academic and professional benefits that come with presenting, but also because a day like SRyou reminds us of the greatness that can be found within the Salve community,” said Lahue. “Our students are that greatness, and SRyou is how we celebrate that.”

Through participating in this exposition, students benefit by:

  • Showcasing their academic, artistic and altruistic endeavors.
  • Developing professional presentation skills.
  • Enhancing their resumes.
  • Discovering the scope and diversity of the achievements of their peers.

The deadline for student proposals is Thursday, Feb. 11.
