Eight Seahawks earn All-CCC recognition in baseball
The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) recently announced its 2021 Baseball All-Conference Teams and major award winners. Salve Regina had eight players honored with spots on all three of the teams.
Salve Regina’s Dylan Ketch ’20, a current graduate student, was named the All-CCC First Team catcher, while his teammate Matt D’Amato ’23 earned a spot in the outfield on the first team as well. Starter Patrick Maybach ’20, another current graduate student, was on the All-CCC Second Team pitching staff.
There were three starting pitchers named as All-CCC Third Team honorees, and Joe Escandon ’23 from Salve Regina was one of them. Joining his Seahawks teammate on the third team was relief pitcher Andrew Roman ’21. Jared Beniers ’22 was in the All-CCC Third Team outfield. The Seahawks had two more third team honorees with Sean O’Malley ’22 named at designated hitter and Anthony Cieszko ’21 honored as a utility player.
Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the nine CCC head baseball coaches following the conclusion of the regular season. For the complete list of All-CCC honorees and major award winners, go here.
TheĀ Commonwealth Coast Conference, founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of 10 full member and two associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference administers championships in 19 intercollegiate sports.
