Salve Regina celebrates Giving Tuesday, a day of generosity
Today’s celebration of Giving Tuesday marks the ninth year of a global tradition built on the power of generosity.
As part of the University’s own Giving Tuesday campaign, the Salve Regina community is invited to participate in a number of ways, including Seahawks Take Flight, which is designed to support student athletes both at home and on the road. In addition, a new student-run appeal on behalf of the American Marketing Association (AMA) Club’s travel fund is being launched today. Both fundraisers share a common theme around supporting student success.
“We are raising funds to attend the National American Marketing Association conference in Chicago in the spring,” said Stephanie Szelest ’22, president of the AMA Club. “Every gift made will help Salve members travel to the competition and network with other colleges.”
The AMA Club will have a table set up in O’Hare Academic Building today, Nov. 30. Also wrapping up a months-long campaign today, Seahawks Take Flight enables donors to give to their favorite Salve Regina athletic team and help enhance the athletic experience for players. Gifts will support the update of practice facilities, equipment and team travel.
While both the AMA Club and Seahawks Take Flight campaign are great causes, participants in Giving Tuesday can also donate to Salve Regina scholarships, another favorite club or the SALVEfund. This year, the University is grateful to alumna Diane Morelli McBroom ’70 for offering a $10,000 challenge gift. Participants can give a gift of any amount, and McBroom will donate $100 for each gift received to The SALVEfund up to 100 donors. That’s an additional $100 to Salve Regina for every gift, with a cap set at $10,000.
Join Salve Regina in celebrating this global movement and come #TogetherForSalve. The power of generosity will make a big difference in the lives of Salve Regina students, their families and the entire campus community. Make a gift to Salve Regina by the end of Tuesday, Nov. 30, by using this link.
