SalveTHON invites community to Cabana to raise money for Hasbro Children’s Hospital
Every year Salve Regina hosts SalveTHON, a dance marathon that raises money for the Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. This money is used to help families pay for treatments, innovations for the hospital, new equipment, research, and more. Participants pledge to stand for 12 hours in support of those struggling.
While the main SalveTHON event will be held on Saturday, Mar. 25, 2023, fundraising events occur throughout the academic year. With this in mind, SALVEthon is collaborating with the restaurant Cabana Newport, located at 140 Broadway Avenue, to host an event on Saturday, Oct. 15, from Noon to 2:00 a.m.
The Salve Regina community, as well as the general public, are encouraged to come for any portion of the event. There will be food, music and games throughout the night. All proceeds will be donated to the Hasbro Children’s Hospital to provide life-saving care for the patients.
Additionally, all members of the Salve Regina community are encouraged to attend SalveTHON on Saturday, Mar. 25, to show their support, and help Salve Regina reach its goal of $25,000.
SalveTHON is a part of the Miracle Network Dance Marathon, a nationwide program that is made up of colleges all over the country working to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The program has raised of $300,000,000 for children’s hospital since their start in 1991.
