Leading forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee to give lecture at Salve Regina

Salve Regina will be hosting a lecture from Dr. Henry Lee, a leading forensic scientist, on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 5:30 p.m in the O’Hare Academic Building, Room 160.

Throughout his legendary career, Dr. Lee has assisted in the investigations of more than 8,000 criminal cases — including the O.J. Simpson case, the review of the John F. Kennedy assassination and the death of JonBenet Ramsey.

Dr. Lee previously served as chief criminalist for the state of Connecticut and director of the Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory. In 1998, he was appointed as commissioner for the Connecticut Department of Public Safety and the State Police. After his second retirement in 2000, he was appointed chief emeritus for the state’s Division of Scientific Services.

Dr. Lee joined University of New Haven’s Forensic Science program nearly four decades ago and helped build it into one of the top programs in the nation. The University’s Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences is named in his honor. Dr. Lee also serves as the editor of several academic journals and has authored or co-authored more than 30 books.
