Office of Multicultural Programs holding leadership retreat
The Office of Multicultural Programs will hold its first multicultural leadership retreat Friday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 10. Undergraduate students seeking to enhance and hone their skills as leaders by learning more about culturally competent leadership are encouraged to apply.
“This retreat is a great opportunity not just for students who are leaders, but for students who want to develop their leadership skills,” said Mandy Hart, associate director of admissions and multicultural education. “We want students to identify issues that they are passionate about, and leave with concrete action steps that they can use to influence the world in a positive way.”
Self-knowledge activities, group discussions and team-building exercises will help students accomplish two goals: to build leadership skills and to advance cultural competency.
Up to 50 applications will be accepted for the all-expense paid retreat, which will be held at the Canonicus Camp and Conference Center in Exeter, R.I. Applications are available online and should be submitted by Tuesday, Oct. 15.
