Bowen named rookie of the week

Parker Bowen ’17 has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast rookie of the week after helping the Seahawks to a 3-2 win over Franklin Pierce University.

After trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Seahawks scored three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead, with Bowen scoring his first collegiate goal to tie the game late in the second period. A solid defensive effort in the final minutes of regulation gave Salve Regina the 3-2 victory.

In addition, Marc Biggs ’16 picked up where he left off last year, with a goal and an assist on the game-winning goal, to earn a spot on the weekly honor roll.

Salve Regina returns to the ice when the Seahawks host Stonehill College at Portsmouth Abbey at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.
