Pi Mu Epsilon installing chapter at Salve Regina
Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honorary society, will install the Rhode Island Delta Chapter at Salve Regina Friday, Nov. 8. The installation ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. in Ochre Court.
Founded in 1914 at Syracuse University, Pi Mu Epsilon currently has more than 350 chapters at colleges and universities throughout the United States. The purpose of the society is to promote scholarly activity in mathematics among the students in academic institutions.
Class of 2013 graduates Cassandra Papalilo, Iliana Pendakiwskyj, and Sara Thurber will be inducted as charter members for their efforts in establishing the chapter at Salve Regina. Paul Diss ’13, Caitlin Fitzgerald ’13, Alisia Medeiros ’15, Daniel Parks ’14, Christopher Vanesian ’14 and Brianna Wilcock ’13 will also be inducted during the ceremony.
