Class of 2018 invited to scavenger hunt, barbecue
The Class of 2018 is invited to participate in a campus-wide Twitter scavenger hunt from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. With small groups of classmates, first-year students will find clues hidden around campus, tweet some photos and learn more about what’s happening at Salve Regina.
Tweets and pictures could earn the winning team $20 in Seahawk bucks for each team member. Student leaders will award the grand prize and superlatives based on creativity, enthusiasm and school spirit.
The superlatives are as follows:
- Best group pose
- Best tree selfie
- Best scenic Cliff Walk photo
- Best Seahawk selfie
- Best hashtag
- #LOL (the most well-humored tweet)
To participate, teams should register by emailing pellcenter@salve.edu by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. The following information must be included: Team name, names of team members (2-6 students) and Twitter account to be used during the scavenger hunt.
Following the scavenger hunt, a barbecue will be held on the front lawn of the Young Building, beginning at 5 p.m. All students are welcome to attend the barbecue, regardless of whether or not they choose to participate in the scavenger hunt. Students interested in attending should email pellcenter@salve.edu by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5.
The scavenger hunt and barbecue are sponsored by the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy in collaboration with the Center for Student Development, the McKillop Library and the offices of International Programs, Multicultural Programs, Career Development and Safety and Security.
