Three Seahawks earn conference honors
Congratulations to the following student athletes, who recently received honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference:
Women’s cross country: Aubrey Palmquist ’16
Palmquist was named runner of the week after finishing third overall at the Tri-State Invitational in a time of 20:09. She opened the race with a 6:25 mile and held steady throughout the 5,000-meter grass and trail course. Salve Regina placed its entire scoring five inside the top 10 to win the invitational at the Community College of Rhode Island last Saturday.
Volleyball: Dianna Tauro ’15
Tauro was named libero of the week after averaging 3.91 digs and 0.64 service aces per set in a 3-0 week for the Seahawks. She collected nine digs and six service aces in a 3-0 sweep of conference rival Curry College. Tauro followed with 21 digs in a five-set victory over Johnson and Wales University, and closed out the week with 13 digs in a sweep of Mount Holyoke College.
Field hockey: Brooke Tolley ’18
Tolley was named rookie of the week after tallying the game-winning goal on the road in the Seahawks’ 2-0 victory over conference rival Roger Williams University. For the season, she now has three goals and one assist while playing in all 12 games for Salve Regina.
