Hockey games to raise awareness, funds for epilepsy foundation
Women’s ice hockey player Molly O’Sullivan ’16, who was diagnosed with epilepsy during her freshman year at Salve Regina, is organizing two awareness events this week.
The first will be held when the men’s ice hockey team plays Suffolk University at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at Portsmouth Abbey School. The second will be held when the women’s ice hockey team plays Manhattanville College at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 at St. George’s School.
Admission to each game is $5. The events will also feature fundraising activities such as chuck-a-puck and a 50/50 raffle, and T-shirts, jerseys, wristbands and key chains will be available for purchase.
All proceeds will benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of New England. Last year’s epilepsy awareness games raised more than $4,000.
For students who are interested in attending Friday’s game at St. George’s, a bus will leave the Rodgers Recreation Center at 7 p.m. (first come, first served).
