Students named to all-conference basketball teams
Four student-athletes – Bryce Boggs ’18, Brianna Del Valle ’15, Barrett Hanlon ’16 and Meaghan Harden ’16 – have been named to Commonwealth Coast Conference all-conference basketball teams.
For men’s basketball, Boggs was named rookie of the year and Hanlon was named to the third team. For women’s basketball, Harden was named to the first team and Del Valle was named to the third team.
Boggs enjoyed a solid debut season, tying for eighth in the conference in scoring with 14.0 points per game, a mark that led all Salve Regina players. He started 23 of 25 contests for the Seahawks while also averaging 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Besides leading his team in minutes played (716) and points (335), Boggs also led the squad in field goals (124), free throws (76) and steals (39) and placed second on the team in rebounds (128) and assists (44).
Del Valle led the Seahawks with six double-doubles this season, including an 11-point, 11-rebound effort at Curry College last week.
In just 16 games this season, Hanlon had a team-best scoring average of 15.8 points per game (252 points). He posted a career-high 40 points in a loss at Curry College, two shy of the all-time school record. In just two seasons with the Seahawks, Hanlon has 671 career points and two appearances on the all-conference team.
Harden averaged a league-best 20.6 points per game during the regular season, setting a school record with 45 points in the first game of the season against Regis College. A three-time player of the week selection this season, she became the quickest player in school history to reach 1,000-point milestone and currently ranks second all-time in scoring.
