James Mournighan named director of residence life and off campus living
James Mournighan has been named director of residence life and off campus living, effective Feb. 8.
Mournighan comes to Salve Regina from Worcester State University, where he has worked in the offices of residence life and student affairs since 2004, serving most recently as assistant director of residence life and housing.
“I am thoroughly excited to have been selected as the new director of residence life and off campus living,” Mournighan said. “I am honored to be part of the Salve family. I hope to foster a living and learning environment, both on and off campus, committed to serving the citizens of Newport and the global community.”
While at Worcester State, Mournighan coordinated the university’s living learning communities and faculty inclusion programs, served as a liaison to the student conduct office and managed other duties in relation to residence security. A Title IX investigator, he reviewed gender-based policy cases.
Mournighan is a graduate of Bridgewater State College (B.S. in psychology) and Worcester State University (M.S. in nonprofit management), and is enrolled in the doctoral program at Northeastern University (Ed.D. in higher education with a concentration in administration).
