Porter named to all-New England all-star team
Rachel Porter ’13 collected another postseason award as she was named to the 2012-2013 All New England All Star Team as announced by the New England Hockey Writers. She is one of just 12 players from the entire region and was selected out of players from both Division II and III.
Already holding the school’s season point record, Porter broke the program’s career assist record this season and became the all-time leader in points as the only player to break the 100-point mark. She finished her career with 102 points, including 57 assists.
Porter finished the regular season tied for eighth against league opponents with 12 assists and was second in defensemen scoring with 15 points. Overall, she wrapped up the season tied for seventh in scoring with 28 points, breaking her own single-season assist record with 22. Porter finished tied for second in the league in assists and was the top overall defensemen in scoring.
Porter earned her first postseason award when she was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference women’s east first team earlier this year. The Seahawks finished the year with a 15-11 overall record and an 11-7 slate in the ECAC East, earning the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.
