Meaghan Harden ’16 named rookie of the week
For the fourth straight week, the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) honoredĀ Salve Regina guard Meaghan Harden ’16 with its rookie of the week award.
Harden averaged 17 points and five rebounds per game last week, leading the Seahawks to a 1-1 conference week. Harden recorded 21 points and eight rebounds in Salve Regina’s 71-49 win over Endicott College. She then scored 13 points, gathered two boards, earned two steals and recorded one block in a tough 74-71 overtime road loss to No. 1 University of New England.
The league’s player of the week, Roger Williams University’s Kaitlyn Bovee, recently passed Harden as the top scorer in the conference after averaging 24 points per game in a 2-0 week. Bovee (16.6) and Harden (15.4) rank one and two in scoring.
Salve Regina travels to Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., for a conference battle Tuesday, Jan. 29 before returning home for a tilt on Thursday, Jan. 31 with Eastern Nazarene College.
