Three football players earn weekly conference honors
Three members of the football team – Tyler McGovern ’21, John Goode ’21 and Angelo DiSanto ’20 – recently earned weekly honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
McGovern was named offensive player of the week after passing for 422 yards and three touchdowns in Salve Regina’s 47-34 victory over Endicott College. He completed 29-of-44 (65.9 percent) passing attempts and compiled an efficiency rating of 169.
Goode was named defensive player of the week after tallying two interceptions and two pass breakups in the win over Endicott. He also had 11 total tackles (10 solo, one assisted) in the contest.
DiSanto was named special teams player of the week after registering 13 points in the win over Endicott, including four field goals, the longest of which was a 37-yarder. He also converted the only extra point attempt he had in the contest.
Salve Regina (7-3, 5-1 CCF) will travel to face Bridgewater State University on Saturday, Nov. 17 in the third annual New England Bowl.
