Want to log some service hours before winter break? The Office of Community Service has several opportunities available during the month of December.

Saturday, Dec. 1: Caroling and Crafting

Volunteers are needed from 2-5 p.m. to help with caroling and crafts for Emmanuel Church’s annual event. This site is located on the trolley line.

Sunday, Dec. 2: Christmas Decorating

Volunteers are needed from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to help decorate Emmanuel Church. This site is located on the trolley line.

Monday, Dec. 3 through Friday, Dec. 7: Bell Ringing

Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to ring the Salvation Army bells at the Stop & Shop on Bellevue Avenue. Shifts are 10 a.m. to noon, noon-2 p.m., 2-4 p.m., 4-6 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. This site is located on the trolley line.

Tuesday, Dec. 4: Preschool Daycare

Volunteers are needed from 9:30-11 a.m. to help with St. Peter’s Lutheran Church’s preschool daycare. This site is located on the trolley line.

Tuesday, Dec. 4: Soup Kitchen

Volunteers are needed from 4-7 p.m. to set up, work and clean up Emmanuel Church’s soup kitchen. This site is located on trolley line.

Tuesday, Dec. 4: Warm Up Wednesday

Volunteers are needed at the Mercy Center from 6-8 p.m. to bake sweet treats for St. Paul’s Church’s Warm Up Wednesday program. Transportation is not provided for this on-campus event.

Friday, Dec. 7: Game Night

Volunteers are needed from 5-8 p.m. to help with Child & Family’s game night. Volunteers will serve food, help with activities and read stories to the children. Transportation is provided. Pick up at Miley Hall at 4:30 p.m., return at 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 11 through Friday, Dec. 14: Toy Drive

Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. to sort gifts for Child & Family’s annual toy drive. Transportation is not provided.
