Cody named all-American for field hockey
Ashley Cody ’20 was recently named a 2018 all-American for field hockey by Synapse Sports.
Cody enjoyed a career year, setting program records for the Seahawks in goals (36), points (83) and a program-tying five-goal effort during a victory at Johnson & Wales University. She was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference’s offensive player of the year and also had five game-winning goals.
“Recognition on the national level is an honor for both Ashley and our program,” said head coach Jennifer Foster. “This final honor of the 2018 season is another award Ashley can take pride in as she continues to prepare for her senior season.”
Salve Regina finished 10-10 overall and 5-7 in league play to qualify for the postseason as the No. 4 seed. A first-round win propelled the Seahawks into the semifinals.
