Community service opportunities: February
Ready to log some service hours? The Office of Community Service has several opportunities available during the month of February.

Saturday, Feb. 2: Baby Steps
Volunteers are needed from 9-11:30 a.m. to help with the East Bay Community Action Program’s Baby Steps program at the Florence Gray Center. Volunteers will be interacting with young children and their families during a parent education program and helping with setup and cleanup of family meals and children’s activities. Van transportation is provided.
Saturday, Feb. 2: Newport Gulls Hall of Fame
Volunteers are needed from 5-7 p.m. and/or 9-10 p.m. to help the Newport Gulls at their Hall of Fame event at Gurney’s Newport Resort on Goat Island. Volunteers will greet guests, check people in and work the silent auction. Transportation is not provided.
Tuesday, Feb. 5: Soup Kitchen
Volunteers are needed from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to set up, work and clean up Emmanuel Church’s monthly soup kitchen. This site is located on the trolley line.
Saturday, Feb. 9: Beach Cleanup
Volunteers are needed from noon to 2 p.m. to help Clean Ocean Access with a beach cleanup at Sachuest (Second) Beach. Van transportation is provided.
Tuesday, Feb. 12: Warm Up Wednesday
Volunteers are needed from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Mercy Center kitchen to bake sweet treats for St. Paul’s Church’s Warm Up Wednesday program.
Monday, Feb. 25: Book Sale
Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help the Redwood Library take down items from its book sale. This site is located on the trolley line.
Thursday, Feb. 28: Baby Steps
