Food Insecurity Student Survey
In an effort to create and implement programs and resources that support all of our students, the Dean of Students Office is conducting research on food insecurities. What is food insecurity? Food insecurity is when a person does not have the ability and/or money to regularly purchase food.
A 2015 study by the Urban Institute found that roughly 11% of students attending four year colleges face food insecurity at some point. Lack of food can impact a student’s success in college, with studies finding that students who experience food insecurity can often have lower attendance in classes, lower performance in class, and are more likely to withdraw from a course or university.
Please take a minute to complete the short survey. The survey is voluntary, and is completely anonymous. Information gained from this survey will be utilized in planning and creating a Swipe it Forward meal donation program.
