Extensions Dance Company holding auditions Sept. 7
Extensions and Extensions II, the University’s pre-professional dance companies, will hold auditions at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 in Rodgers Recreation Center, Room 039. Students who wish to audition should be prepared to take a dance class in jazz and contemporary styles. There is no need to prepare any material prior to the audition.
Directed by associate professor Lindsay Guarino, Extensions Dance Company and Extensions II are both academic courses with a full year commitment. The selected ensembles will meet Tuesday evenings for technique class, rehearse approximately 10 hours each week, and perform a number of times throughout the year.
Extensions Dance Company performs at events on campus, including fully produced concerts at the Casino and Megley theaters, and at off-campus events throughout the region. Extensions offers dancers the opportunity to train at an advanced level of technique while working with a variety of guest artists who visit campus and set choreography in intensive-style workshops.
Students who plan to audition should arrive early to warm up and register. For more information on Extensions, email Guarino at lindsay.guarino@salve.edu.
Updates and casting will be post to Salve Dance’s social media pages. Follow salve_regina_dance on Instagram and Salve Regina University Dance Program on Facebook for updates and for more information about the dance program.
