Annual etiquette dinner provides valuable tips for seniors
The 13th annual Senior Etiquette Dinner will give seniors preparing for life after graduation valuable lessons for proper conduct during a business lunch or dinner. Billed as “an evening of shrimp tails, dessert forks and getting down to business,” the dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 in Ochre Court.
Hosted by the Student Alumni Association, the evening will revolve around a formal dinner, during which students will learn tips on handling issues such as how to deal with finger food, what to do with the dinner napkin, which fork to use when, how to pass plates around the table and more.
Dr. Donna Cook, senior experience director, and Dr. JD Swanson, Class of 2015 Dean, will emcee the event. Coaches will be on hand at each table to guide conversation and closely monitor and critique students.
In addition, students from Dr. Nadia Abgrab’s Retailing course will present the “ProFashional” fashion show, featuring clothing provided by the New England Harbour Club and jewelry provided by Personally Preppy.
The etiquette dinner is free and open to all seniors, but seating is limited. Proper business attire is required, and attendees may choose to have their professional headshot taken.
