Army ROTC providing color guard for home football games
Members of Salve Regina’s Army ROTC program will provide the color guard for Salve Regina’s remaining home football games at Gaudet Field on Saturday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Nov. 3. Consisting of four cadets, the color guard carries the American and Rhode Island flags onto the field during the national anthem.
Army ROTC provides college students the skills and leadership training to become officers in the U.S. Active Army, Army Reserve and National Guard. The program emphasizes academic excellence, physical training and written and oral communication, as well as ethics to develop all facets of an individual.
Upon graduation from a four-year college and successful completion of ROTC, cadets receive commissions as second lieutenants in one of the Army’s specialized branches.
Salve Regina cadets will be on hand throughout both football games to provide information and answer questions about the ROTC program. To learn more, contact Chris Corbett at (401) 874-7682 or rotc@salve.edu, or visit the program’s Facebook page.
