University’s athletic teams hosting youth summer camps
Several of the University’s athletic teams are hosting youth camps during the summer months, in sports such as field hockey, baseball, lacrosse and basketball.
Women’s basketball camp
Monday, July 17 to Thursday, July 20
Open to girls ages 10-16, the camp is designed to teach strong fundamentals through individual skill work, team drills and situational game play. Campers will be grouped by age, size and ability, and personal instruction will be provided by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable coaching staff.
Field hockey camp
Sunday, July 23 to Wednesday, July 26
Designed for girls ages 10-18, the camp will incorporate the core components of field hockey and advanced skills. Stations, drills and small games will teach ball control, passing and receiving, goal scoring and more. The camp will also offer specialized goalkeeper instruction.
Women’s volleyball camp
Monday, July 31 to Thursday, Aug. 3
Held over four evenings, the camp is designed for high school players with JV and varsity experience. Players may register for any or all of the four evenings.
Baseball camp
Tuesday, Aug. 8
Open to players in grades 9-12, the camp will include a pro-style workout, drills, batting practice, simulated scrimmage and pitcher bullpens along with campus tours.
Men’s lacrosse camp
Tuesday, Aug. 8
Hosted by Salve Regina coaching staff and current student-athletes, the camp will give high school athletes a realistic experience of what it’s like to compete at the next level.
Women’s lacrosse camp
Thursday, Aug. 10
Hosted by Salve Regina’s coaches and players, this women’s lacrosse camp is designed for high school players who intend to play at the college level. The camp objective is to allow players an opportunity to learn more about Salve Regina and sharpen their lacrosse skills.
Men’s basketball camp
Saturday, Aug. 12
Designed for athletes who have completed grades 8-12, the men’s basketball camp provides an opportunity to learn more about Salve Regina and engage in the proper fundamentals of basketball. Campers will be matched with athletes of their own age, size and ability level, and participants will receive individual instruction from a qualified coach.
