Borkowski named player of the week

Monika Borkowski ’14 has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s East ice hockey player of the week.
In the Seahawks’ season opener last Saturday, Borkowski had assists on the game-tying and game-winning goals in a 3-2 win over Neumann University. Both goals came in the third period, with Shelby Johnson ’16 scoring the game-tying goal at 4:45 and Taylor Shepherd ’15 putting the Seahawks ahead with her power play goal three minutes later.
The honor is the first recognition for Borkowski from the ECAC. Salve Regina plays at College of the Holy Cross at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
