CAB comedy series features SNL cast member Vanessa Bayer
The Campus Activities Board’s comedy committee will welcome Saturday Night Live cast member Vanessa Bayer to campus Friday, Feb. 24. Bayer will appear with opener Anna Drezen at 9 p.m. in the Rodgers Recreation Center.
Saturday Night Live’s longest running female cast member, Bayer burst onto the scene during her debut season with her impression of Miley Cyrus in the wildly popular sketch, “The Miley Cyrus Show.” She has continued to wow audiences with her impressions as well as her recurring characters Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy and the ditzy adult film star turned aspiring pitchwoman, Becky.
Bayer lent her voice to the animated feature “Despicable Me 2” and stars in the web series “Sound Advice with Janessa Slater” that she co-created with her brother Jonah for Broadway Video’s Above Average. Her recent films include “Trainwreck” and “Office Christmas Party.”
A comedian and actor, Drezen is currently a writer for Saturday Night Live. She regularly performs standup and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, the People’s Improv Theater, Union Hall, the Annoyance and other clubs across the country. Drezen has written for Cracked, MTV, Thought Catalog, Nylon and the Daily Dot, and has been featured in videos on CollegeHumor, Above Average, Buzzfeed and Funny or Die.
Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. To reserve tickets, visit the Campus Activities Board’s Eventbrite page.
