CHP faculty candidates to give lecture presentations
Members of the University community are invited to attend lecture presentations by two faculty candidates for Salve Regina’s Noreen Stonor Drexel Cultural and Historic Preservation Program.
The candidates will discuss how their professional work influences their teaching. Elaine Brown Stiles will speak at 3 p.m. Monday, March 6 and Dr. Jeroen van den Hurk will speak at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. Both presentations will be held in the DiStefano Lecture Hall.
Stiles will receive her Ph.D. in May from the University of California at Berkeley, with thesis work on the history of architecture and urbanism. She holds an M.A. in preservation studies from Boston University and an M.A. and B.A. in art history from Smith College.
Van den Hurk received his Ph.D. in art history from the University of Delaware, with dissertation studies on Netherlandic architecture in old New York. He holds an M.A. from the Department of Architectural History at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
